A poetry book can easily become clichéd, pretentious, or, in the worst case, flat. Not this one. I am pleasantly surprised with each page I read. Many of the poems rhyme, but they don't feel artificial; on the contrary, the language flows like a babbling brook. The texts are both light and profound. After reading the book, I feel it is a good companion on a journey, both a physical one and the journey of life itself. Susanne suggests that the book be used in church services or confirmation classes, which I also believe is fitting. The white cover has a simple illustration on the front which I interpret as a door, an archway, a window, or a mirror – any of which would suit the theme. Susanne has a gift for speaking truthfully and genuinely about life, and I believe we will be reading more from her in the future.
